Heat pumps - Operation

How does it work ?

Like a refrigerator, but in reverse! Your refrigerator captures the heat contained in the food, thereby cooling the food, and expels the heat outside. outdoor air/water/ground, evaporator, compressor, condenser, heating circuit, expansion valve The heat pump captures heat from outdoors and brings it into your home. The heat pump is a thermodynamic machine that operates using a sealed closed circuit that contains a refrigerant. The refrigerant passes through 4 elements: the evaporator, the compressor, the condenser and the expansion valve. So the refrigerant will be vaporized, compressed, liquefied and then expanded. The heat pump captures low temperature heat coming from the selected source (air, ground, water) and releases it to the heating system at a higher temperature.

THE BENEFITS OF HEAT PUMPS

Heat pumps have two main benefits. They are: economical ecological multifunctional Economical and ecological: For 1 kwh of electricity consumed to run the heat pump, the pump gives back up to 4 times that amount in your home. The amount of heat given back is what is known as the pump’s coefficient of performance (COP). A significant portion of your home’s heating can be provided by energy that is: free and non-polluting because it is renewable! Multi-functional: - Heat your home: This can be done by underfloor heating, fan coil units or low temperature radiators. When remodelling, you don’t necessarily need to change all your radiators. - Produce domestic hot water - Cool your home in summer - Heat your swimming pool
