Heat pumps - FAQ

Renovation or new construction: What type of heat emitters? In new construction, it’s best to install an underfloor heating system, as it provides the best comfort and performance. In renovations, it’s not always easy to tear up the floor to install an underfloor heating system. Fan coil units are an efficient and reliable alternative. If you already have low temperature radiators, you can keep them to limit your installation costs. What source: Ground source or air source? This depends on the size of your lot, and whether there are trees in place or if you plan to plant trees in the future. In all cases, your installer and our sales representatives will perform a detailed evaluation of your project. Dual-energy or single energy? This depends on whether the heat pump will cover all your heating needs or whether it will have to be combined with a more traditional system. How to select the power rating? This depends on the area to be heated and the insulation of your home. If you have significant heat loss, you will have to install a system with a higher power rating that consumes more energy. Remember that the best way to save energy is to insulate. Why use the ConsoPac software application? We have developed powerful calculation software that we make available to installers of our systems, to facilitate decision making by providing a cost comparison of the different types of heating systems and their impact on the greenhouse effect.
