Heat pumps - Air source heating - EXPLANATION OF THE PRINCIPLE

Nature provides numerous inexhaustible energy reservoirs that are constantly being renewed by natural limitless sources such as the sun, water, and the earth. These sources are not only inexhaustible, but their constant renewal is part of a natural process that does not harm the environment. Accordingly, they offer the possibility of using energy that is natural, ecological and free. Air is one of these natural energy reservoirs. Today, the free energy stored in the air can be captured and given back to your home economically by using the principle of air source heating. This simple technology consists of collecting the energy in the outdoor air with a first heat exchanger, transferring it to a heat transfer fluid, or refrigerant, and giving it back to the heating system via a second heat exchanger. The components of this type of heat pump are selected carefully to take maximum advantage of the thermodynamic properties of the refrigerant, which, when it changes state (vaporization and condensation) transfers heat extremely efficiently and economically. This technology is economical and ecological because it consumes only small amounts of energy. The latest technologies developed for air-water heat pumps have increased their efficiency even further, and today they are one of the main alternatives to existing heating systems. These systems are reversible and can cool your home in summer by evacuating heat outdoors. There are two versions: The single unit version: The hydraulic module is integrated into the outdoor unit, which greatly facilitates installation. (Airpac single unit version coming in late 2010). The two-unit version: The hydraulic module is installed inside the home in an out-of-the-way place (i.e. laundry room, garage, basement) and the outdoor unit is placed outdoors, behind the house, for example.
