Our solutions - Our products - ChleoDescriptionOur Chleo heat pump water heater is designed to produce domestic hot water and will divide your energy costs by a factor of three. It is composed of a generator (heat pump) and a 300 litre hot water tank, delivered in 2 separate elements for easy installation. The unit can perform two functions depending on the type of configuration: - Produce domestic hot water (regardless of the type of installation) - Ventilation (only in the exhaust air configuration)OperationOur Chleo heat pump water heater operates using the same principle as an exhaust air heat pump, and can be connected in two different ways, in a utility room: - Exhaust air configuration The air extracted from the kitchen and bathrooms is hot and has a high energy potential. Instead of discharging this heat outside, the Chleo heat pump water heater captures the energy and uses it to heat the domestic hot water. This solution is particularly economical and ecological. - Room air configuration The Chleo heat pump water heater can also be installed using a room air configuration. The principle is the same as for an exhaust air configuration, except that the hot air used to capture the heat comes from the room where the Chleo is located. In this configuration, the water heater is not connected to the ventilation system. The heat captured from the evaporator of the heat pump is transferred to the hot water tank via a stainless steel plate heat exchanger and an enamelled steel coil, in keeping with sanitation regulations. The hot water temperature is controlled by a thermostat up to 60 °C. An electric heating element can be used to bring the water to a temperature high enough to prevent Legionnaires disease, or as a back-up heater. Hot water tankApplications (new or existing homes)Installation The hydraulic installation of the generator is easy thanks to a system of hose connections between the generator and the hot water tank (comes with the unit). The air flow installation is done using 125 mm diameter ducts that are insulated to eliminate the risk of condensation and minimize heat loss (exhaust air configuration only). Extraction is via self-adjusting, fixed flow vents. Humidity controlled extraction must not be used. A drain must be provided for condensates (1/2'' BSP). The outer casing is easy to remove and provide full access to all the components of the generator. The refrigerant circuit is assembled using 45% silver brazing and treated with an anti-corrosion coating.
